Calling all parents... the search for Canada's most-cherished blankie is on. Blue Blankie is launching a national contest to find Canada's best-ever blankie – as determined by you. We are looking for Canadian parents to share inspiring stories behind the much-loved baby blankets in your families. We want to know whether these special blankets have been handed down from previous generations, the places where your children's blankies have been, the outrageous things you have done to find lost blankies that your little ones just can't live or sleep without, and more.

To be sure that your blankie will be awarded Canada's best, and receive the grand prize of $1,000 cash*, it's up to you to spread the word and encourage family and friends to vote for your entry.

Spread the warmth

It's not just about finding Canada's best-ever blankie, Blue Blankie owner Tanya Petruk wants to help pass on the warmth of these stories by donating one blanket from her own baby blanket line for every 25 entries* she receives to help keep babies in need cozy. We invite you to share the details of this unique contest with family members, friends and co-workers, and inspire hundreds of entries across the country, in the spirit of warmth of course.

*One blanket for every 25 entries will be donated up to a maximum of 20 blankets.

Prize to be awarded

*Blue Blankie will award the writer of the winning entry $1,000 cash to be used towards an RESP for their child’s education.

CONTEST OVERVIEW

Eligibility

1)No purchase necessary.
2)Must be a legal resident of Canada.
3)Participants must be the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside at the time of entry.

How to enter
1)Participants are required to submit a 100 to 250-word essay explaining why they believe they have Canada’s best-ever blankie.
2)When submitting an entry, participants are required to complete all fields in the online entry form.
3)Contest updates will be sent via Blue Blankie’s e-newsletter, so be sure to check the box to sign up.
4)Due to the nature of the contest, participants may only submit one entry.

Selecting a winner

The winner of Canada’s best-ever blankie contest will be chosen by the number of votes each entry receives. So, the more people you share your story with, the more votes you may receive and the better your odds of winning. A person may only vote for a particular entry once so cast your net wide.

Contest closes on March 15, 2009 and the winning entry will be determined electronically by the number of votes received and winner will be notified no later than March 21, 2009.

Privacy policy

Blue Blankie will not share your personal information with anyone. However, if your entry is chosen as the winner, we will publish your story on our website and in a media release which will be issued by April 6, 2009 to all national parenting and consumer publications, as well as print, online and broadcast media for potential inclusion.
