A cherished blankie has been passed down from my son to his sister and then to their cousin. This blankie was not made specially for the children, but was fun and had brilliant colours that caught my eye. This blankie was blue, red and white with balloon.
My son carried this blankie wherever he went. The blankie was tracked through the dirt, loved while sleeping and helped him get through times he wasn't feeling well. As my son got older he didn't use the blankie as much and my daughter began to love the blankie in much the same way that her older brother did. There was one exception when my daughter had the blankie and that was that now her dolls were wrapped gently in the blankie and put to bed as well.
When my daughter outgrew the blankie I washed it and set it aside. The blankie still had it's brilliant colours after many washings and still in wonderful condition.
My sister had a baby and as I was getting things ready to send to her (she lives in the United States) I came across this blankie. I smiled at the many stories the blankie could tell and put it in the box to send to her, but stating that when my nephew was done with the blankie I would like it back.
My son is going to be 20 years old, my daughter is 17 years of age and my nephew is 7 years of age and the blankie is still going. It is a little threadbare now, but has traveled to Hawaii, Mississippi, Florida, California (my brother-in-law is a US Marine).
This blankie has been loved.
